Three ways to send a reminder on trafficking
In February, Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs told the Don't Trade Lives campaign he had "heard loud and clear the idea for an ambassador dedicated to the task of combating human trafficking". He told 30 young activists who met with him in Canberra that they "may be surprised about what we do on this one."

We're really pleased that Minister Rudd understands the importance of having an Ambassador on Human Trafficking. So let's give him a gentle reminder and make sure we get one soon!

Remind the Minister for Foreign Affairs about the need for an announcement on this issue. Email him or spread the word on Facebook. If you're on Twitter, join us in tweeting a reminder to @KRuddMP

Why an Ambassador?

An Ambassador will provide expertise on the issues surrounding human trafficking. He or she can influence international policy reform and lead an Australian response at international technical and political forums. The appointment of an Ambassador would ensure Australia is consistent, comprehensive and effective in efforts to combat the global crime of human trafficking.

Let's keep this issue in front of the government and encourage their efforts to combat human trafficking and slavery.

Thanks for taking action today!
